[The camera feed swings around slightly as it shows a young woman squinting at a door in confusion in between trying to figure out what had just happened. This doesn't make sense at all.]

Go on a journey? But I already was! Where's Noel? and Mog?

[The camera feed finally gets straightened out so that Serah can into it with a completely baffled look on her face.]

What happened? This doesn't look like anywhere on Pulse at all. Time couldn't have changed things this much, could it? Noel....what's going on!?

[Of course he's not exactly around to answer her.]

I hope they're both okay wherever they are. I wonder what happened, maybe something went wrong? Or maybe...

[Maybe jumping into a supposed time portal with the guy she'd met only yesterday had been a bad idea. No, she's not going to doubt him so easily. She can't afford to give up yet. After all he'd promised that- hey wait a minute that's it!]

Lightning! [He'd promised to take her to see her sister! So that means she has to be here! Suddenly her expression changes and she stares into the camera with a hopeful look on her face] If anyone's watching does anyone know a woman named Lightning Farron? Please, it's really important!

[Oh wait, she's leaving one lousy first impression isn't she. Though the shivering she's doing probably isn't very impressive either. She's dressed for Bodhum weather not this... whatever this is.]

Oh, I'm so sorry! My name's Serah Farron and I guess it's probably pretty obvious that I'm new to wherever this is. So you see, Lightning's my big sis and I haven't seen her in a really long time. So if anyone could help me I'd really appreciate it. Thank you!

[Okay, now she can turn it off. She'd figure out what to say before she turned it on next time. For now it's off to find somewhere warm, because it's clear that lady isn't going to let her back in.]

So now I'm supposed to go on a journey with something called a pokemon, right? I think that's what that lady said before she pushed me out the door.

Yep! You should have one in a little red and white ball.

So that's what that's for. You mean there's something in it?

[Can't be very big, that ball is tiny.]

Yep! They give you a Pokémon, but you have to catch the rest, or find some other way to get 'em.

[Time for the obvious question.]

What's a Pokémon?

[She calls off-screen for her team to get over here, then she pans to her 'mons--a Blitzle, a Pidgeotto, a Vulpix, and a Gible with a Bonsly chew toy in his mouth]

These are Pokémon! There's all sorts of types, though, so you probably don't have any of these guys.

[Okay... some of those are super cute. She's just going to take a moment to absorb this all in.]

So things like all of them fit into those tiny balls?

Yep! I'm not sure how, but they all fit in there. They seem to like it, too, though I keep 'em out for company.

[Vena pipes up with a sharp "Pix!"]

And a heat source. Vulpixes are pretty cozy.

Are there a lot of cute ones like yours?

[Because it's an important question, she can already feel that "Gotta catch them all" itch building.]

Maybe I should find one like that then. It's freezing out here. I miss the beach already.

Most of the ones I've seen are pretty cute, yeah!

I hope mine's cute too.

[She really does need to go meet her pokemon soon, because traveling partner plus cuteness? Hard to pass up.]

An island? No, but I've grown up near the beach almost all of my life.

[She giggles]

Anyway, why don't you open the Pokéball?

I probably should, shouldn't I. Hang on just a minute, okay?

[So Serah literally puts the pokégear down and goes to have a nice first meeting her her new pokémon. So it's a few minuets later that an extremely cheerful Serah comes back to show off her pokémon.]

Sorry about that. [She smiles into the camera, practically glowing with good cheer.]

This is Snow.

[She turns the camera around until an Eevee comes into view. Snow seems to realize he's being watched so looks up and twitches his ears for his unseen audience.]

[Happy squees]

He's adorable!

He is!

[Snow nudges her slightly.]

I think he knows it too.

[See how much she minds? She minds a whole lot.]

[Rikku giggles]

Oh! Did I ever introduce myself?

[Serah pats Snow's head fondly. She'd had nothing to worry about there as her bond with the Eevee was practically instantaneous.]

... Not that I can remember you haven't.
