[Serah Farron - 001 Video] The beginning of it all (New Bark)

[chasingstorms]

[The camera feed swings around slightly as it shows a young woman squinting at a door in confusion in between trying to figure out what had just happened. This doesn't make sense at all.]

Go on a journey? But I already was! Where's Noel? and Mog?

[The camera feed finally gets straightened out so that Serah can into it with a completely baffled look on her face.]

What happened? This doesn't look like anywhere on Pulse at all. Time couldn't have changed things this much, could it? Noel....what's going on!?

[Of course he's not exactly around to answer her.]

I hope they're both okay wherever they are. I wonder what happened, maybe something went wrong? Or maybe...

[Maybe jumping into a supposed time portal with the guy she'd met only yesterday had been a bad idea. No, she's not going to doubt him so easily. She can't afford to give up yet. After all he'd promised that- hey wait a minute that's it!]

Lightning! [He'd promised to take her to see her sister! So that means she has to be here! Suddenly her expression changes and she stares into the camera with a hopeful look on her face] If anyone's watching does anyone know a woman named Lightning Farron? Please, it's really important!

[Oh wait, she's leaving one lousy first impression isn't she. Though the shivering she's doing probably isn't very impressive either. She's dressed for Bodhum weather not this... whatever this is.]

Oh, I'm so sorry! My name's Serah Farron and I guess it's probably pretty obvious that I'm new to wherever this is. So you see, Lightning's my big sis and I haven't seen her in a really long time. So if anyone could help me I'd really appreciate it. Thank you!

[Okay, now she can turn it off. She'd figure out what to say before she turned it on next time. For now it's off to find somewhere warm, because it's clear that lady isn't going to let her back in.]

Thanks for that. Means I don't have to worry 'bout what stories the others have been telling ya.

[ Not even ten minutes since meeting and Fang's already teasing, though that knot in her chest hasn't gone away. But she doesn't know how to approach it and this doesn't feel like the right time anyway. So she'll bide her time: just as with Sazh, she'll find an opportunity. ]

Probably 'cause you were worrying 'bout where you'd been dumped and what was going on. Takes a bit to get your feet back under yourself.

Well... I don't know about that exactly.

[Serah can tease too Fang, so there. Though unlike Fang there's nothing wrong with Serah's conscious.]

I expected to be somewhere different, but I didn't expect it to be this different at all.

[lif]

That so? Maybe I'd better warn Light that she ain't the only one with stories to tell.

[ After all, she can't do anything about things Serah's already heard, and she doubts Hope would say something too unflattering. Not that she's actually worried about it. ]

-Right, you said something 'bout a journey. And here I'd been hoping things would settle down a bit back home, but guess there's no rest for the weary.

[chasingstorms]

Nothing bad, just stories about your journey with everyone else mostly.

[Anyone on Pulse speak bad about one of their pillars? Not in this lifetime.]

It's complicated really. I'm still not sure if I understand it myself.

[lif]

[ By her grin she's holding back some laughter. ]

Figured that'd be bad enough!

[ That smile fades a bit as she tips her head slightly. On the one hand, she's curious, if only because it would be news about back home and how everyone is doing. On the other, does it even matter? ]

Complicated or not, 'fraid it's gonna be on hold for a while.

It's not that bad. Honest!

[She nods, but Serah's smile is still in place.]

Lightning's here and right now that's all that matters.

[After all it's not like she knows there's something seriously weird going on behind the scenes back home.]

Obviously they haven't been tellin' ya the right ones then. I'll fix that sometime.

[ As exhausting, frustrating, nerve-wracking, and occasionally hopeless as their journey had been... really, it had been fun. It's easy to look back and laugh knowing that they triumph in the end, but it had been fun even throughout. So yes, she's playing it up a bit, but really, it had been a thrill, especially compared to how routine this place could get at times.

But Serah hits the nail on the head exactly. They'd gone through all that for family, and if Vanille and the others were here Fang would have no complaints no matter how routine life was. ]

Yeah. And I know she's beside herself with you here.

[chasingstorms]

If you insist.

[It's not like Serah's going to tell her no. Hearing anything from Fang is a big deal as far as she's concerned.]

I'm supposed to be making a list of things for us to do once we're together.

[A rather wicked looking smile curves over Serah's lips.]

Maybe you've got a couple ideas?

[lif]

[ One look at that smile and Fang can't help but grin back. No one ever mentioned that Serah had this sort of streak in her! Her own voice is full of laughter. ]

You could always ask her to make ya some chocolate.

[chasingstorms]

Her cooking is already on there, do you think adding another kitchen related thing might be overkill?

[Serah figures Fang knows all about just how not skilled in the kitchen Lightning is by now.]

[She's not the saint certain people make her out to be, though she's still a good person as a whole.]

[lif]

Probably. Least she can handle chocolate after a try or two, 'less you're thinking of something simpler. [ Since Lightning had done better with their camping than with the kitchen. ]

[ Literally Fang's going on the few things that Lightning mentioned and Snow's convictions, along with that early, short glimpse of Serah and Vanille's reassurance that she was a kind person. It wasn't much to go on. But it's strange... she almost reminds her of Vanille with that surprising bit of mischief and how easily they've fallen into this give and take. That almost-familiarity takes away the last of her apprehension. ]

Maybe Lady Luck will like ya better than me. Haven't really gotten Light to do anything fun just for the hell of it even here.

[Mild mannered school marm with a wicked sense of humor lurking under the surface, that's Serah. Who else could have talked Lightning into a belly button piercing after all? Certainly not Snow or anyone in the Guardian Corps.]

Maybe I'll try to teach her again. I've had more practice explaining things lately.

[Because little kids ask all the questions and as their teacher she has to answer most of them.]

Now that's something I can do.
